FAQS

Is this a soup?
No, it really is a stew. By definition, a stew contains ingredients "stewed" in just enough liquid to be simmered for a period of time. It tends to be heartier than a soup. Whereas soup is primarily liquid, such as stock, combined with other ingredients such as vegetables or meat.

No meat... why so much protein?
Beans are protein-packed powerhouses. This is why each serving of our Kale and White Bean Stew contains 16g of protein, or 32g for an entire double serving. Not only that, but when you add potatoes and beans together, they form what is known as a complete protein, allowing a vegan dish to have the essential amino acids found in animal protein.

Vegan

One of the best backpacking meals I have tried. Love that they are made in my home state of Maine.

Healthy and Clean

I was very excited to try the kale and white bean stew because of the nutrition content and that it fits my vegetarian lifestyle. I was a little disappointed in the flavor. It had all the right stuff but lacked zest. I added some sriracha sauce and I was just fine. It was a huge serving, so I shared it with my husband and saved some for tomorrow.

tastes good a bit peppery

Testing this one and others before going on the trail. Calories not really enough after a long day long hike. Maybe I didn't stir enough... it tasted a bit peppery
