FAQS

Is this a soup?
No, it really is a stew. By definition, a stew contains ingredients "stewed" in just enough liquid to be simmered for a period of time. It tends to be heartier than a soup. Whereas soup is primarily liquid, such as stock, combined with other ingredients such as vegetables or meat.

No meat... why so much protein?
Beans are protein-packed powerhouses. This is why each serving of our Kale and White Bean Stew contains 16g of protein, or 32g for an entire double serving. Not only that, but when you add potatoes and beans together, they form what is known as a complete protein, allowing a vegan dish to have the essential amino acids found in animal protein.

Kale

Kale is considered one of the most nutrient-dense foods you can eat, making it a bonafide superfood. Kale's list of health benefits is lengthy, and in our opinion, it's equally as tasty.
White Beans

White Beans

Protein-packed white beans are both hearty and nutritious. When combined with the other ingredients in our stew, you'll be getting a meal with all the essential amino acids needed to provide complete source of protein.
Fennel

Fennel

Loved for its unique mild anise/licorice flavor, fennel pairs beautifully with the kale, beans, potatoes and carrots of this stew. The root vegetable is also rich with essential vitamins and minerals.

Great winter stew but could do without the hard stems

This one makes a hearty and flavorful stew that is great with a hunk of warm buttered bread. I would give it 5 stars but there are a few pieces of hard stem that I have to pick out. Otherwise, it is a great winter stew that is easily extended with sausage or chicken for bigger meals.

Update of an earlier review

I tried this again recently, hoping the issue of the tough/hard bits of kale and herb stems might have been solved, but, sadly, no. Still an inedible hard, tough bit in almost every spoonful that kinda ruins an otherwise good meal. Too bad, as there are relatively few vegan options for those of us who don't eat meat or dairy.
