Cool Water - Neat In Theory
I'm very grateful for "Good To Go" as they are by far the cleanest ingredient dehydrated meals I found on the market. I hate to say I was just underwhelmed. I was at 8,500-9k feet of elevation and the first time I made this per the instructions it had way too much liquid and wasn't close to rehydrated. Being able to use "cool" water I thought would be great but personally did not enjoy it. I was also in very cold weather so that could have played a part. The second time around I used less liquid and let it rehydrate twice as long which was better (did this with all the meals of G2G I ate. Granted, the package does warn you of longer rehydrate times at elevation but I wouldn't have thought over 20 minutes to be necessary. Flavor was "okay", but did not enjoy the texture. They warn you of being crunchy which is fine but it was too crunchy in the dehydrated sense. Flavor was "okay", I ate mine on a wrap as suggested and that helped. Similar to the other meals I tried, it felt like when you go to someone's house and they've put too much seasoning in their meal. My hunting partners had the big box brand meals and while they have way too many ingredients I don't want in my body, they cooked faster and were tastier. Unfortunately there's a tradeoff to eat clean.
