FAQS

Holy calories! Is that a typo?
Nope, it's true—540 cals per serving and a whopping 1,070 cals in an entire double serving. If you're embarking on a long-distance hike, or just burning a ton of calories, look no further. This is our highest calorie entrée.

Is this meal spicy?
Not so much hot, as it is flavorful. Poblano, black pepper and cumin come together to create big, bold flavors with a balanced spice. If spicy-hot just isn't your thing, have no fear! This is a mild dish.

Solid

It's too spicy to be a "Cuban" rice bowl (source: I'm Cuban) but it's still a good mix of wholesome food at a decent 123 kcal/oz and 116 kcal/$. I cold soaked it (despite the label being adamant you needed boiling water) and it worked fine after 1-2 hours of soaking, and the spiciness did help when eating it cold. This is a good base if you want to add more fresh ingredients to it, but it works perfectly fine on its own. This will probably be my go-to prepared meal going forward.

Spice in the desert

The Cuban Rice Bowl is one of my "go-to" meals when I need a pre-packaged meal. I really like the blend of spices, beans, rice, and plantains.

So full of flavor

So many nuanced flavors. Totally satisfying. They are all great, but this may be my new favorite.

Pretty good trail food.

Added some slices of pre-cooked bacon and avocado into a wrap and it was good.
